For the past several months, I’ve been studying the different LPWAN protocols in existence. It seems to me that Telco’s have a good grip on what is going on and will not allow competition to exist without a hassel. What are your thoughts on an RPMA rollout for a smart metering application in a small city? What other options would you recommend? Should I just wait for an NB-IoT rollout in my city?
i think if you want to use a private network deployed by yourself, use LinkLabs or LoRaWAN.
If you want a public network deployed by telcos, use Sigfox, NB-IoT or LTE-M depending on the offer in your country.
about RPMA, forget it
@nestorayuso thanks for the quick reply, I thought the forum was abandoned!
Why do you say that? Now I’m worried. Thanks!
@matt If you have any insight yourself, please share. Thanks guys.
Are you looking into using your own private network? I’ve been looking into the Texas Instruments Sub-1 Ghz solutions. Multi protocol support and good documentation. Would be good to hear peoples opinion on it.
